The unit comes with a painted – steel chip box for your wood chips and a porcelain – coated steel water pan. It has two cooking grates which is not as much space as some other models have but that might be just enough for someone. This smoker is 38 inches tall, 21.5 inches wide and 18 inches deep. We consider that enough space for a good quality meal. The unit is very convenient because it is easily transportable thanks to two side handles. Upon purchasing you can get a warranty which is highly recommended for any product you buy. Just in case some kind of malfunction happens, you are safe in terms that you do not need to pay to get it fixed. The Smoke Hollow Electric Smoker has three temperature settings and has an automated temperature maintaining system which is why it is pretty easy to use. The built in magnets on the door make for a very good, high quality door latching system. Upon purchase, the product needs to be assembled but worry not, that is also very easy to do. You will get the instructions in the package as well.
The high quality design makes it durable enough to be used outdoors in low temperatures. The unit has no problem with maintaining the temperature even in winter times. We recommend you to put an aluminium foil pan at the bottom of the unit to catch the dripping grease. Some customers have complained that the grease slides down the sides of the unit and on to it’s legs so we recommend you to put a mat under it to catch any remaining juices. There are some other downsides to this product which people have complained about. One of them being, there is no side chip loaders, meaning that you need to open the door every time you need to refill the chip rack. That will cause the temperature to drop and might not be good for the meat, depending on the way you decide to cook it. Some have complained that the unit does not smoke the chips that much. After four to five hours cooking on 230 degrees the chips would turn darker but never really get smoked to ashes. That might be a good thing for people who prefer mildly smoked meat. If you are one of those then this is definitely the one for you. If you like the heavy smoked flavor then this one just might not fit your liking.
